Terms of Service

Yue is an AI companion and community bot for Discord. I run her as a hobby project. By talking to her, sharing a server with her, or using her dashboard, you agree to these terms, and to Discord's own Terms and Guidelines. What she does with your data is in the Privacy Policy.

What Yue does

What's active depends on how each server has set her up.

• Chats. She replies when you @mention her (including to images), sends voice messages, can join a voice channel and talk, and in channels an admin enables she may chime in unprompted.
• Remembers. Notes about members and servers, notable moments, and promises people make.
• Helps out. Web search, GIFs, memes, polls, Steam lookups, unit conversion, birthdays, events, announcements, and tarot card pulls.
• Runs the community. Welcome messages, roles, tickets, temporary voice channels, and moderation (warn, timeout, kick, ban, optional automod).
• Also: DJ music, League of Legends coaching for players an admin has linked, and web pages for server members.

She can draft new abilities for herself, but they don't go live until I approve them.

She's an AI

She's teasing, sarcastic and sometimes blunt, and her roasts are jokes. If a bit isn't landing, tell her or a server admin. Her "memories" and mood readings are automated guesses, not a record of what you did or said. Anything she says in a server is visible to everyone there.

Rules

Please don't:

• harass, threaten, dox or impersonate anyone with her help;
• trick her into ignoring her limits, leaking secrets, or doing things you couldn't do yourself;
• spam her, or otherwise burn through the AI quota everyone shares;
• attack, scrape or probe the dashboard and its API.

If you run a server

• You choose where she chats and reads passively, and whether she posts unprompted. Pick channels your members would expect her in.
• Let your members know a bot with AI features and memory is present, and point them to the Privacy Policy.
• Only link someone's Riot account with their agreement, and unlink it if they ask.
• She checks a member's Discord permissions before acting on moderation or config requests, but AI can misunderstand. Review what she does.

Your content and outside services

You own what you write. By using Yue you let me process it as needed to run her features, including sending the relevant parts to the AI and API providers listed in the Privacy Policy. Those services have their own terms and limits, which I don't control.

Yue isn't endorsed by Riot Games and doesn't reflect the views of anyone officially involved in producing or managing Riot Games properties. Riot Games and League of Legends are trademarks of Riot Games, Inc.

The dashboard

You sign in with Discord and can change settings for servers where you have Manage Server and Yue is present. You're responsible for what's done under your session, so sign out on shared devices. The relationship map and insights pages open for any server you're in; the Privacy Policy says what they show.

Availability and ending things

Yue runs on a small self-managed setup and depends on outside services, so she may be slow, offline, or switched to a fallback model, and features can change or disappear. You can stop any time by leaving her alone or asking an admin to remove her. I can restrict a user or remove her from a server for abuse or to protect the service.

Liability

Yue is provided "as is", with no warranties. To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost data, downtime, or anything that results from AI-generated content or automated moderation. None of this limits my liability for intent or gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, or any rights the law says you can't give up.

Changes and contact
